Eddie R. Collins, 49, of Sioux City passed away Monday, March 4, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rustin Avenue Untied Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martha Anderson of Trimble United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Eddie was born May 26, 1958, in Sioux City, to Sam and Dorothy (Bern) Collins. He grew up in Sioux City and attended school. He had been a lifelong resident of Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1981.
For the past 10 years, he had been employed as a security guard for MCI and Stream in Sergeant Bluff.
His hobbies included fishing, darts, video games and Sci-Fi movies.
Survivors include three brothers, Michael A. Collins, Charles W. Collins and Gary L. and Carol, all of Sioux City; a sister, Betty and Dan Burright of Sioux City; and nieces and nephews, Jason Burright, Jennifer Meada, Corey Collins, Fred Collins and Mark Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a nephew.
