SIOUX CITY -- Edward "Ed" C. Brown, 63, of Sioux City died Friday, July 9, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Ed was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Sioux City, the son of Charles and Zilda (Heusinkveld) Brown. He was raised in Sioux City, then his employment moved him to North Manchester, Ind., Greenville, S.C., Sioux City, Le Mars, Iowa, and then back to Sioux City. He had worked for Hobart Co. for several years. He then was a manager at Burger Chef and a steak house restaurant before his job at Wells' Blue Bunny in Le Mars. Back in Sioux City, he worked for the school district as a paraprofessional.
He was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church. He enjoyed photography throughout his life.
Survivors include his sisters, Irene Gruis of Sioux City, Ruth Anne Brown of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Carol Swaim of Springfield, Ore.; nephews, Jaymie Gruis, Eric Gruis, Jacob Swaim, and Nick Swaim; a niece, Michelle Swaim-Praskievicz; a grandnephew, Vincent Gruis; and grandnieces, Caraline Gruis and Elsie Gruis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
