Sioux City—Edward V. Hledik, 91, of Lewes, Del., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford, Del., surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Local arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Arrangements in Delaware were under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in Wilmington, Del.
Edward was born in 1918, in Clarkson, Neb. however he lived the majority of his life in Sioux City. Although he worked for Sioux City Dressed Beef and Bell Telephone, his lifelong interest focused around gardening and his John Deere tractors.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Francis Huisenga of Collegeville, Pa.; a granddaughter, Rhonda Huisenga of Chester Springs, Pa.; a granddaughter, Krista Serafino of Smyrna, Del.; a grandson, Doug Huisenga of Middletown, Del.; a sister, Mary Ann Huellie of Tilden, Neb.; a brother, Earl Hledik of Des Moines; and five great-grandchildren who called him “Pop Pop at the Beach.”
