     Edward Wesley Andrews, 95, of Sioux City, Iowa died on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Sioux City, Iowa.

     A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 15th at Morningside Lutheran Church located at 700 So. Martha St. Sioux City, Iowa with the Rev. Tom LoVan officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be on Monday, April 14th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Christy Smith Funeral Homes Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA.

     Wes was born March 2, 1930, in Moville, Iowa, to Edward and Dorothy (McElrath) Andrews. At the age of 2 the family moved to rural Sioux City. He attended country school and started the eighth grade at Lawton Community Schools, graduating in 1948. In 1949, Wes purchased his first truck. He hauled farm to market commodities for himself, his father, and other area farmers.

     Wes was drafted into the US Army on August 22, 1951, serving two years during the Korean Conflict. He received his honorable discharge from the Army on August 21, 1953, and returned home to resume his trucking and farming business. Wes married Beverly Thompson on Feb 2, 1955, in Sioux City. The couple was blessed with three children, Cynthia, Crystal and Eron.

     Wes was regularly active in the community. He served 15 years on the Concord Township A.S.C. S. community board, and as a Trustee for the Concord Township. He also served as the beef leader for the Concord Conquers 4 H Club.

     When Wes turned 89, he entered his 70th year behind the wheel in the trucking industry. During those 70 years, he drove trucks to all the lower 48 states, three provinces of Canada and four different countries. At age 90, he was able to renew his commercial driver’s license for two more years.

     He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church.

     Surviving are his son, Eron and Michelle Andrews, daughter, Chris and (Klint) Goodchild, 8 grandchildren, Brandon and Sarah Goodchild, Brant and Britnay Goodchild, Kayla and Dr. Cass Long, Eric Andrews and his friend Shayna Sistrunk, Tedi and Zach Gray, Hannah and Logan Held, Rob and Becca Gray and Kali and Sergio Sotelos, and 19 great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly and his daughter Cynthia Gray.

     In lieu of flowers Memorials may be directed to the family for dispersal to Wes's favorite charities.
