Eileen Marie Fry, 92, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Nancy Allen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to

Eileen was born Dec. 22, 1914, in Rapid City, S.D., the daughter of Guy and Merle (Stanton) Caple. She moved with her family to Sioux City in 1922, where she attended school and graduated from East High School in 1932. She worked at Hess-Mallory Wholesale Dry Goods, McManus-Greene Insurance Company and Metal Building Systems.
She married Charles "Joe" Fry on July 8, 1940, in Chadron, Neb. In their later years, they owned a home in Mesa, Ariz., where they spent winters until Joe's death in 1993. She later moved to NorthPark Senior Living.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 502. She was a former member of Iota Delphian Study Club, Morningside Country Club, Sioux City Boat Club, Dakota Dunes County Club and Leisure World Country Club in Mesa, Ariz. She also served on the board of the YMCA.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Glanda and Lee O'Brien of West Des Moines; a son and his wife, David and Karen Fry of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, Michael Zitariuk of Kansas City, Mo., Joseph Fry and his fiancee, Jayme Heaberlin of Chicago, Ill., Julie and her husband, Jimmy Smith of Kansas City, Mo., and Erin O'Brien of West Des Moines; and a great-grandchild, Max Zitariuk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Caple.
