Elaine H. Beckner (Wynn)

Elaine Helen Wynn Beckner, 89, of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in McCook Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Elaine was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Jefferson, S.D., the daughter of William and Mable (Hebb) Wynn. Elaine grew up in Jefferson and attended Civil Bend School.
She married Edwin (Pete) Beckner on Nov. 10, 1960. To this union three children were born, Melinda, Darla and Pete. In addition, Elaine had four children from previous marriages, Bill, Sharon, Richard and Ronnie.
Elaine enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, listening to country music, going to the Riverboat, and she was a huge Elvis Presley fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Melinda (Don) Groves of Bronson, Iowa; two sons, Pete (Michelle) Beckner of Dakota City, and Richard "Dickie" Allen of South Sioux City; grandchildren, Craig Gehrke, Chantal Maryott, Carson Beckner, Carlee Beckner and Bobby Ray Hatfield; her sister, Agnes Miller of North Sioux City; and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters; a brother; two daughters, Darla Rae Beckner and Sharon Allen Hatfield; and two sons, Ronnie Allen and Bill Green.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials can be made in Elaine’s honor at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
