Elaine L. Trudeau, 91 of Sioux City, Iowa, formerly Jefferson, SD, passed away peacefully, May 29, 2023, at Countryside Nursing Home in Sioux City, Iowa.
A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Deacon Joe Twidwell officiating. Interment will be in St Peter Cemetery, Jefferson, SD.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church Jefferson, South Dakota.

Elaine was born March 13, 1932, near Jefferson, South Dakota on the family farm to Ralph and Florence (Limoges) Rosenbaum. She grew up there and graduated from Elk Point High School in 1950. Elaine married Cedric "Dick” Trudeau on June 11, 1951, in Jefferson and they made their home there. The couple had four children: Curtis, Cheryl, Gary, and Michael. Elaine worked as a teacher’s aide in Vermillion and Elk Point as well as the Head Start Program. Elaine and Cedric moved to Dakota Dunes in 2009, Cedric passed away in 2014 and Elaine moved to North Park Senior Living in Sioux City in 2015. Later in 2016 she moved into Countryside Senior Living.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson, St. Peter Altar Society and the Cleverettes extension club. Her hobbies included gardening, flower arranging, playing the piano, organ, and French horn as well as singing. Elaine loved to cook and can fruits and vegetables from her garden for the family to enjoy during the winter months.
Surviving are four children; Curtis (Kathy) Trudeau of Caledonia, MI and Gary (Lisa) Trudeau of Hardwick, MN, daughter, Cheryl (Jack) Wyatt of Pipestone, MN., Mike S Trudeau of Sioux City, IA, four grandchildren Jamie, Jordan, Merissa and Cameron, two great grandchildren; Ella and Gabe, five siblings, Bonnie Pojunos, Estellene Dunn, Ron Rosenbaum, Calvin Rosenbaum and Rhonda Chartier and many other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Florence Rosenbaum, husband Cedric "Dick" Trudeau, and a brother Glenn Rosenbaum.
