Eleanor S. Hogen, 85, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be noon Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Alan Wicks officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
Eleanor was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Sioux City, to Ole and Laura (Grostad) Hogen. She attended and graduated from Sioux City East High School. She was a lifelong resident of the Sioux City area. She was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, from which she retired.
She was a member of the Pioneer group, which was with the telephone company. Eleanor enjoyed traveling, friends and time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a brother, Leonard Hogen of Sioux City; a nephew, Kirk Hogen of Vermillion, S.D.; a niece, Janice Katres of Jacksonville, Fla.; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister-in-law.
