Elinor Mae Felton (LeFebvre)

SIOUX CITY -- Elinor M. Felton, 83, of Sioux City passed away Aug. 2, 2011, at a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Zirpel officiating. Private family graveside services will be at a later date in Woodbury Township Cemetery, Sergeant Bluff. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Elinor was born July 4, 1928, in rural Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Lydia (Trulsen) LeFebvre. She was later adopted by her stepfather, E.A. "Pat" Kueny. She attended grade school in Mapleton and graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1946.
She married Vernon H. Felton on July 16, 1949. She was a longtime resident of Sioux City. She worked at J.C. Penney, Younkers and Kmart Department Stores as a sales clerk.
She was baptized, confirmed and a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Audree (Richard) Gordon of New Brighton, Minn., Ardith (David) Bliss of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Linda Felton Christensen of Bondurant, Iowa, Ruby Felton of Auburn, Calif., and Wilma Felton of Canon City, Colo.; brothers-in-law, Eugene (Ernestine) Felton of Longview, Wash., and Emmett (Yvonne) Felton of Mount Sinai, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years; two adopted sons, Michael and Thomas; and two brothers-in-law, Carroll and John Felton.
Memorials may be directed in her name to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
