Elizabeth M. "Betty" Mansfield, 86, of North Sioux City passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Betty was cremated according to her wishes. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Betty was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in Sioux City, to Maxwell and Lillian (Carpenter) Broveak. She graduated from Central High School.
She was united in marriage to Cornelius "Con" Mansfield on Oct. 4, 1947, in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in September 2010. Betty was employed at Zenith Corp. for 13 years before retiring in 1986. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s company, Mansfield Painting & Decorating Co. She was a lifelong resident of the Siouxland Community.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, working with her flowers, doing crafts (especially ceramics and wood) and her special friend, Bailey.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Craig Mansfield of Sioux City; daughter, Nancy C. and her husband, Dan Moos of Dakota City; six grandchildren, Travis (Columba) Mansfield, Jason (Dixie) Brown, Amy (Marvin) Hines, Angie Peplinski, Greg (Sharon) Mansfield, and Joey (Brian) Maiso; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Broveak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Con; son, Gary Mansfield; and brothers, Bernard and Lowell Broveak.
