Elizabeth A. Fitzpatrick, 79, of Sioux City died on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Squire, pastor of Riverside Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born on Feb. 18, 1936, in Pocahontas County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Moritz) DeWall. She was raised in the Pocahontas area and attended school there. She worked for the Spencer Telephone Company in Spencer, Iowa, before coming to Sioux City, where she worked for I.P.S. and MidAmerican Energy Company from 1960 until 1992. She retired after 32 years of service.
Elizabeth was married to Earl Fitzpatrick, and they enjoyed spending the winter months in Mission, Texas. Earl died on Feb. 3, 1994, in Mission.
She was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church. Elizabeth loved reading and spending time with the neighborhood children. She was a volunteer for CASA for several years. She will be remembered for kindness and her great sense of humor.
She is survived by cousins; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
