SIOUX CITY -- Ella A. O'Hara, 91, of Rolla, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Rolla Manor Care Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Daniel C. Guenther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Ella was born March 3, 1918, in Plymouth County, Iowa, near Le Mars, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Groon) Pollock. She was raised in Plymouth County and came to Sioux City around 1947.
She married Eugene J. O'Hara on Sept. 17, 1947, in Sioux City. He died July 14, 2005, in Sioux City. She was employed as a parts inspector for Wincharger Corp. and Zenith Corp. She lived in Sioux City until 2005, then moved to Rolla, Mo., to be near her family.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She and Gene enjoyed playing bingo. She also liked to go out with the Zenith Retirees Lunch Group. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Maureen A. Keener of Rolla, Mo.; a son and his wife, James and Rosemary O'Hara of St. James, Mo.; four grandchildren, Joseph and Jamie Keener, Brittany O'Hara and Ryan O'Hara; and a sister, Josie Kluemper of Le Mars, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Joseph O'Hara; and three sisters, Esther Kocmich, Eve Dreckman and Lil Neyens.
