Eric M. Tapia

Eric M. Tapia, 23, died Sunday, February 11, 2024, at a local hospital in Sioux City, IA.

A visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 16, 2024, at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, NE, with burial to follow in Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, NE.

Eric Michael Tapia was born March 1, 2000, in Sioux City, IA.  He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 2018.  Eric then began working as a Lab Technician at Pech Optical.

Eric was a caring, hardworking, funny person.  He liked to spend his free time playing video games on his Playstation.  He was a very dedicated fan of the NBA team the Boston Celtics, NFL team the Dallas Cowboys, and soccer team Newcastle United.  Eric enjoyed going on family vacations.  He loved spending time with his father, Jesus, working on projects around the house and watching sports together.  Eric cared deeply about his family and friends.   

Eric is survived by his father, Jesus (Cheryl-deceased) Martinez of South Sioux City; mother, Jacqueline Anderson of Sioux City; girlfriend, Kendra Dumdei of South Sioux City; siblings, Promise Donahoo of Des Moines, IA, Marcos Tapia of Des Moines, Olivia Garcia of Sioux City, Evelyn Maya of South Sioux City, Ethan Francisco of South Sioux City, Yesenia Tapia of West Des Moines, Anjel Tapia of West Des Moines, Miah Tapia of West Des Moines, Sofia Tapia of West Des Moines; and many other relatives and friends.
