SIOUX CITY -- Eugene Francis "Gene" Williams, 73, of Sioux City died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Church of Christ, with the Rev. Mathew Wentz officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Gene was born June 29, 1935, in Sioux City, to Kenneth M. and Maxine (Trego) Williams. He grew up and attended school here and graduated from Central High School in 1954. He was employed with DuPont Chemical as a salesman, specifically in the paint division of both home and auto. During his career with DuPont, he lived in various cities in Indiana, including Indianapolis, South Bend and Bloomington. He also lived in Sioux Falls, S.D. for awhile. After his retirement, he returned to Sioux City in 2002.
He was a member of Morningside Church of Christ.
He is survived by a son, Scott Williams of Westfield, Ind.; his former wife and friend, Barbara Williams of Sioux City; and a cousin, Marion Ribida of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
