SIOUX CITY -- Eugene Berl "Kelly" Kelly, 85, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at his home in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with Don Botic officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Eugene "Kelly" was born Jan. 1, 1924, at Oakdale, Neb., the son of Berl and Mary (Anderson) Kelly. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Sioux City, where he attended the public schools and graduated from East High School. After graduation, Kelly joined the U.S. Marines and served during World War II.
He married Dorothy West on Aug. 29, 1947. Kelly was recalled by the military and served during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he continued his education at the Kansas City School of Watchmaking. Together, Kelly and Dorothy moved back to Sioux City, where Kelly owned and operated his own watchmaking business for over 30 years.
He was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, a Mason with Morningside Lodge 615 A.F.&A.M. and an Abu Bekr Shriner on the Cycle Corps. Kelly enjoyed fishing and reading.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Roger and Kathy Kelly and Keith and Susan Kelly, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Lynn Kelly of Sergeant Bluff; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Betty Lausen of Edmond, Okla.; and two brothers and their wives, Don and Judy Kelly of Bella Vista, Ark., and Mike and Janet Kelly of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, JoAnn Peterson and Louise Piper.
