Eunice Arlene Husk, 82, of Sioux City passed away on Aug. 15, 2016 at Westwood Nursing Home.
Entombment will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Logan Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Tom Loftus officiating, at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Eunice was born on July 20, 1934, in Sioux City to Adolph "Arthur" and Katherine (Wills) Jessip. After graduating from Central High School, she worked at Sioux City Battery as a tiddly winker (putting small lead discs in the bottom of each battery cell).
Eunice married Ronald Husk on Oct. 23, 1954 in Sioux City. Her favorite job was being one of the first lunch ladies at Grant School, which she did for 20 years while she raised four children. Eunice made Bings at Palmer Candy, volunteered at Grant School organizing books and was active in their PTA. There was always coffee and something to eat whenever you stopped by.
Survivors include her daughter, Twila (William) Roberts; sons, Leon (Amei) Husk, Bryan (Tammi) Husk, and Rodney (Belledawna) Husk; grandchildren, Daniel Roberts, Andy (Laura Roost) Husk, Miranda Nash, Matt Husk, Natacia (Roland Carrizales) Husk, Samantha Clausen, and Wu Deyi; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jack Jessip, Gale Jessip, Cliff Jessip, and Clark Jessip.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Gene, Bruce, Elvon, and Doug Jessip; sisters, Betty Chamberlain, Vivian Trobaugh, and Joy Meyer; and grandson-in-law, Jacob Nash.
