MOVILLE, Iowa -- Eunice Ann Janssen, 73, of Moville passed away peacefully Thursday, June 19, 2008, at her residence after battling cancer for eight years.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Moville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville. Eunice was born on Dec. 15, 1934, in Ticonic, Iowa, to Ed and Lena (Miller) Fuson. She was raised in Siouxland and graduated from Castalia High School with the class of 1952. After high school, she attended National Business Training in Sioux City.
On March 20, 1954, Eunice and Roy Eugene "Gene" Janssen were married in Worthington, Minn., and were blessed with two children, Marla Jean and Darloe Eugene. She worked for the Moville Pharmacy for a number of years.
She was a member of the Moville United Methodist Church and UMW. Eunice loved her grandchildren and always wanting to know how and what they were doing. Other activities she enjoyed were working in the yard, traveling, fishing and feeding the birds.
Eunice is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gene of Moville; daughter, Marla Jean Janssen of Sioux City; son, Darloe and wife, Deb of Sioux City; grandchildren, Lauren Ann, David Steven and Megan Marie Janssen; a brother-in-law, Herbert Broughton of Modale, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Claude L. Miller; a sister, Lucille Broughton; and a brother, Clyde Fuson.
