Evelyn Rachel "Babe" Trongaard, 91, former lifelong Sioux City resident died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Platteville, Wis. following a lengthy illness. She had resided in Platteville since April 1996.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Paul Spaulding of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Trongaard was born July 7, 1916, in Sioux City, the third daughter of John D. Bader and Margaret Wicks Bader. She married Donald Adrian Trongaard on Jan. 16, 1937, in South Sioux City. He died Feb. 3, 1988, in Sioux City. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident until she moved to Platteville in 1996 to be near her son, Craig.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Craig and Mary and their children, Kristine and Brian of Wisconsin; the children of her son Gary, Kim of Minnesota, and Jerry, Jeffrey, Michael and Mark of Texas; several great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beverly Bader of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Carol Trongaard of Euless, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Gary.
