SIOUX CITY | Evelyn L. Rouillard, 85, of Sioux City died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.
Abiding by her wishes, the body has been cremated. There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Evelyn was born on March 7, 1927, near Dennison, Iowa, the daughter of George and Clara (Rath) Weller. She attended country schools in Crawford and Monona County and public school in Ute, Iowa. Evelyn moved to Sioux City at a young age where she worked as a waitress before moving to California for a short time.
She returned to Sioux City, where she married Donald Rouillard in December 1955. Evelyn worked at Armour's and Co. until its closing in 1963. She then worked for Aalfs Manufacturing until her retirement in 1992.
Evelyn enjoyed bowling, ceramics, raising parakeets and African violets, and her dogs that were her pals for life.
Survivors include her family, Greg and Terri Iverson of Ute, Iowa; sister, Ethel White of Riverside Calif.; sister-in-law, Beth Weller of Bennett, Colo.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Warren and Gailen; a brother-in-law, Howard White.
