Sioux City - Everett H. Pyzel, 81, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Everett was born on April 10, 1932, in Sioux City, to Harry and Pearl (Bell) Pyzel. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He married Bonnie Hummel on Dec. 18, 1954. He was employed at Missouri Valley Steel for 35 years.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, drinking coffee with his buddies, and working on puzzles. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Cutty's Resort and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Pyzel; two sons, Dennis (Denise) Pyzel of Hawarden, Iowa, and Douglas (Shelly Spreng) Pyzel of Omaha; grandchildren, Travis (Tristin) Pyzel of Colorado, Tiffany (Trent) Heutz of Elk Point, S.D., Allison (Jeremy) Ferguson of Le Mars, Iowa, and Sarah (Anthony) Ciaffa of Brunsville, Iowa; 10 great-grandchildren; a niece, Carmen (Phil) McMahon of Sioux City; and grandnieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pamela Sue Pyzel; an infant brother; and a sister, Gladys Hansen.
