Faith Orleen "Orleen" Beaubien (Keehn)

September 28, 1925 — July 13, 2010

SIOUX CITY -- F. Orleen "Grandma Love" Beaubien, 84, of Sioux City passed away July 13, 2010, at a nursing home in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cornerstone World Outreach, with Pastor Larry Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 4 to 6 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Ave.

Orleen was born Sept 25, 1925, in Hawarden, Iowa, to Robert and Darledmond (Eby) Keehn. She grew up in the Hawarden area, attended school and graduated from high school. She later attended Wayne State Teachers College, where she obtained her teaching certificate. At the age of 75, she graduated from Bible college.

She met and then married Gerald A. Beaubien on Jan. 24, 1946, in Akron, Iowa. Orleen moved to Sioux City after her marriage to Gerald and had been a resident of Sioux City since 1946. Gerald passed away on April 29, 1975, in Sioux City. Orleen was employed as a teacher, was co-owner of a ceramic shop with her husband in Sioux City for more than 20 years, a caregiver, nanny, foster parent, a cook at Cornerstone school and a Wal-Mart greeter.

She was a member of Cornerstone World Outreach in Sioux City, where she actively volunteered and was very passionate about her role at Club Genesis. Orleen enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and sewing. To satisfy her competitive drive, she played video games and would never turn down a "friendly" game of cards. For these reasons and many others, she was passionately known as "Grandma Love".

Survivors include son, Jerry and Dusti Beaubien of Estro, Fla.; daughter, Sue Hitt of Sioux City; sons, Brad and Deb Beaubien of Katy, Texas, and Neil Breaman of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Nancy and Jessie Dupree Sr. of Sioux City, and Ann and Joshua Kohan of Sioux City; numerous foster children; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Keehn of Seney, Iowa, and Robert Keehn of Hawarden, Iowa; and a sister, Wanda Miller of Beresford, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
