HOLLY SPRINGS, Iowa -- Fern L. Chilton, 94, of Corona, Calif., formerly of Holly Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Vista Cove Care Center in Corona.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs. Born Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1916, on her parent's farm in Holly Springs, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Metcalf and the late Cora (Cox) Metcalf.
Survivors include a son, Richard T. Chilton of Omaha; a daughter, Linda and her husband David Schoen of Corona, Calif.; five grandchildren, Rhonda, Nikki, Jason, Stacey, Diana and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jonathon, Serena, Amanda, Aimee, Kylie, Keith, Shawn, Alex, Kari, Katie and Kirk; as well as a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Roosevelt Chilton in 1959; and a daughter, Kathleen Ann Chilton.
