SIOUX CITY -- Florence F. Wilson, 92, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Countryside Senior Living.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Larkin Northside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Doran officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Florence Freda Witt was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Akron, Iowa, to Henry and Louise (Johnson) Witt. She attended Hawarden (Iowa) Public Schools. She was raised in the Hawarden area and lived in Omaha for three years before moving to Sioux City in 1945. She worked for the Sioux City School District as a custodian for more than 25 years.
She was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church. In later years, she became a member of Central Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her sons, Chester Wilson of Tulsa, Okla., and Craig Wilson and his wife, Kathy of Catoosa, Okla.; grandchildren, Bryan Goodman of Sioux City, Heather and her husband, John Smith of Tulsa, Okla., Amanda Wilson of Catoosa, Okla., and Vestiva Manship of Colorado; a niece, Joyce Colebank of Texas; and a nephew, Donald Deskin of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Ian; and her sisters, Elma (Witt) Boyles and Irene (Witt) Waaler.
