Fran, or "Mama" as she was known to her grandkids, was born Sept. 29, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio to parents, Raymond and Valencia (Gibson) Fife. Fran attended grade school in the Columbus, Ohio, and the Mount Vernon area, where she grew up as a child.
She ventured to Evangel College in Springfield, Mo., where she met her loving husband, Jerry Fish. Fran became Mrs. Fran Fish on Aug. 23, 1963, at First Assembly of God Church in Sioux City. She and Jerry began their life together in Springfield, Mo., continuing onto Kansas City, Mo., where they had their first daughter, Missy. They moved to Jasper, Ga., where they lived for 14 years and had their two youngest daughters, Tammy and Stacey. The Fish family moved to Sioux City in 1982, where they have resided ever since. Fran was a school teacher in all of the areas where her family resided over the years.
She was a member of the Morningside Assembly of God Church, where she led Women's Bible Studies and a Young Couple's Sunday School class with her husband, Jerry. She was also a former member of Cornerstone World Outreach. Fran lived to touch others through her teaching.
She loved reading her Bible, spending time drinking coffee with family and friends, talking on the phone with loved ones, reading Christian novels, and putting together puzzles. She was known to her grandkids as the best "Mama" anyone could ever ask for. Everything she loved incorporated her family, especially her loving husband, Jerry Fish. Many referred to her as beautiful, classy lady. Even until the end, her faith and stature did not fade.
Fran will be remembered and missed by her husband of 48 years, Jerry Fish of South Sioux City. Others include three daughters and their husbands, Missy and Todd Willenborg of Elkhorn, Neb., Tammy and Paul Young of South Sioux City, and Stacey and Raul Sanchez of Sergeant Bluff; her grandchildren, Trevor and Tauhni Willenborg, Emma Young, Tyler, Terrence, Tavian, and Valencia Sanchez; her sister, Anne LeValley of Tehachapi, Calif.; her mother and father-in-law; three sister-in-laws; and several nieces and nephews.
