Frances L. "Fran" Frohman (FitzGibbon)

Frances L. "Fran" Frohman, 67, of Odebolt, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Epiphany, with the Very Rev. Paul-Louis Arts officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with a Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Larkin Northside Chapel.

Frances was born July 8, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Edward J. and Catherine M. (Henshall) FitzGibbon. She came to Sioux City as a child with her family. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1958. She attended beautician school.

She married Larry E. Frohman on Aug. 12, 1972, in Sioux City.

She was a homemaker and housewife, as well as working as a beautician and nurse's aide for a short time.

She was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany and the church choir. She was a member of Ave Maria Court 269 of the Catholic Daughters of America, and a member of Opus Spiritus Sancti.

She enjoyed reading, but her passions were her children and grandchildren, art, music and her spiritual relationship with God.

She lived in Sioux City most of her life. She moved to Odebolt in October.

Survivors include her husband, Larry E. Frohman of Sioux City; her two daughters, De Anna Hyres of Sioux City and Christy Hoefling and her husband, Joey, of Odebolt; her son, Michael Frohman of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Tabitha Hyres, Samantha Hyres and Amber, Carter and Elizabeth Hoefling; and two brothers, Gerald and Sherrie FitzGibbon of North Carolina and Thomas W. FitzGibbon of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary De Vilbiss.

Pallbearers will be Joe Lyons, Conrad Heider, Larry Harrington, David Welch and Michael Fey.
