Frances Arlene Hutmacher (Chamberlin)

SIOUX CITY -- Frances A. Hutmacher, 86, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at the Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Known to many as Fran, Mrs. Hutmacher, the former Frances A. Chamberlin, was born on March 16,1925. She was the daughter of George Noyse and Gladys Gertrude (Jensen) Chamberlin. She graduated from Central High School in 1943 and worked for a few years as a secretary before marrying Gerald Hutmacher on Oct. 15, 1947. Soon thereafter Frances devoted her time to being a full-time homemaker and then being a mom.
Frances loved sewing and did volunteer work for many years, making baby bibs for newborns at St. Vincent Hospital and baptismal bibs for her church. Fran was a very active member of the Fireman's Wives Auxiliary, serving as its president for one term. Numerous groups and activities at Nativity Catholic Church kept her busy over the years as well.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Virginia and Dan Naylor of Rochester, Minn.; granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Brian Gustafson of Minneapolis, Minn.; granddaughter, Michelle Naylor of Houston, Texas; grandson, Brett Naylor and his wife, Heidi Swanson of Minneapolis; and four great-grandchildren, Zach, Wyatt, Trey and Keegan.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Gloria Schultz
