Frances M. Marsh (Kober)

SIOUX CITY -- Frances M. Marsh, 94, of Sioux City died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Whispering Creek Memory Care Center in Sioux City.
Private graveside services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .
Frances was born Aug. 25, 1916, in South Sioux City, the daughter of Louis H. and Mary Theresa (Herber) Kober. She was their youngest and only daughter, with six older brothers. She attended South Sioux City Public Schools.
Frances married Bill Marsh on June 1, 1935, in Jackson, Neb. After their marriage, they lived in South Sioux City. In 1939, the couple moved to Sioux City. During World War II, they were in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Gulf Port, Miss. She was a nanny and worked at the U.S.O. in Coeur d'Alene. In Sioux City, she worked at the T.S. Martin Tea Room.
Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dwight Rorholm of Sioux City; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Lori Marsh of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Michael (Marnie) Rorholm of Spokane, Wash., Janet Rorholm of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Sarah (Mike) Ohrtman of Sioux City; six great-grandchildren, Eric, Gunnar, Thomas and Katie Rorholm and Zoie and Aiden Ohrtman; and a sister-in-law, Mary (Bill) Clark of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and six brothers, Elmer, Harold, Alvin, Irving, Robert and Ben Kober.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Hospice of Siouxland.
The family wishes to thank Hospice and the wonderful caring staff at Whispering Creek Memory Care Center for all the love and care that they showed to Frances.
