SIOUX CITY -- Frances H. Robinson, 94, of Belvidere, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Rosewood Care Center in Belvidere.
Services will be 11 a.m. Satuday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Werley will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Frances was born April 2, 1917, in Cherokee County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry A. and Esther O. (Brownmiller) Smith. She was raised in rural Cherokee County, graduating from Quimby (Iowa) High School and Nettleton and Edwards Schools of Business in Sioux City.
She married Ronald E. Robinson on July 6, 1935, in Estherville, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1982. Frances was employed with the Cherokee County Courthouse and Avon Company for more than 34 years.
She was a member of War Eagle and Metro Chapters of American Business Women's Association and Navy Mothers. She also was a member of the VFW in Sioux City.
Survivors include her son, Ronald "Gale" (Janet) Robinson of Carpentersville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Ronald (Debbie) Robinson of Cherry Valley, Ill., Roland (Tanya) Robinson of Rockford, Ill., and Lura (Ted) Grzeskowiak of Rockford; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
