NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Frank John Navara, 84, of North Sioux City died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at his home.
As per his wishes, he was cremated. There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Frank was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Frank and Marie (Hronek) Navara. He graduated from Cicero High School in 1944. He entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
He married Colleen Henshen on Oct. 2, 1954. She died June 9, 1978. Frank later married Shirley Bushnell on March 4, 1982. She died Aug. 18, 1999. Frank worked for and retired from Building Services at the University of South Dakota.
He enjoyed reading and listening to music. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include one brother, George and Alba Navara of North Judson, Ind.; and four nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Beverly, George and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; and a sister, Delores Miller.
