Frieda Dorothea Jensen, 92, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, in Lincoln.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. David Zirpel officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Frieda was born March 26, 1916, in Germany, the daughter of Lorenz and Dora (Wollesen) Andresen. She was raised and attended school in Germany.
She married Herman Jensen in 1941. Together, they moved to the United States in 1952 and made their home in Battle Creek, Iowa. They then moved to Holstein, Iowa, and finally to Sioux City in 1955. She worked in the nursery at the Lutheran Hospital, which is now St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. Herman died July 22, 1981. She moved to Lincoln in 1998.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Hans and Suzanne Jensen of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Eike and Doug Marthaler of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren, David and Gina Jensen of Sioux City, Laura and Chuck Bos of Sioux City, David Marthaler of Lincoln, Neb., Sara Marthaler of Lincoln, Ryan Marthaler of Lincoln, Cindy and Ron Hansen of Omaha and Linda Miller of Oregon; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Gunther and Hildagaard Ulrich of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herman; and a daughter, Liane Miller.
