Gary A. Mansfield, 57, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel, 5206 Military Road, in Sioux City. Gary Arnold Mansfield was born on Oct. 10, 1950, to Con and Betty (Broveak) Mansfield, in Sioux City. He attended and graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1968.

He was married to Kathy Meuleveld from 1970 to 1998. To this union two children were born, Greg and Joey. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. He was co-owner of Mansfield Painting and Decorating from 1974 to 1987. He then worked at Blankenship-Meier Painting and Decorating, retiring in 2007.

He was a member of Local 214 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. Some the activities that he enjoyed were fishing, watching NASCAR and sports. He was an artist doing sketchings/carvings.

He is survived by his parents, Con and Betty Mansfield of North Sioux City; his life partner, Judy Neal of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Greg and Sharon of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a daughter, Joey Mansfield of Omaha; a brother and his wife, Craig and Linda of Sioux City; a sister, Nancy Narciso and her life partner, Dan Moos of Dakota City; grandchildren, Taylor, Austin and Skyler Mansfield, Devin and Keely Neal, Devin Wynn, Natalie, Nicholas and Hannah Neal; stepchildren, Dennis Neal and his wife, Micki of Coon Rapids, Minn., Mark Neal and his wife, Amy and Rob Neal and his life partner, Cheyenne, of Sioux City; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
