Gemma Jean Lund, 8 months of Sioux City, Iowa was granted her angel wings Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Unity Point Health St. Luke’s in Sioux City, Iowa.
A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51106 with the Rev. Darrin Vick of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 27, 2016, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Gemma was born September 29, 2015 in Sioux City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Troy Lund and Sara DeForrest.
Gemma’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard.
With Gemma’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, especially her winning smile. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Survivors include her loving parents; Troy and Sara, sister, Claira Lund, two half-brother’s; Devon Lund and Taylor Neuroth all of Sioux City, IA., maternal grandparents; Troy and Debbie DeForrest of Sioux City, uncle Jarred and his wife Holly DeForrest and their children Quinten and Landry of Sioux City, maternal great grandmother Deanna DeForrest of Sioux City and maternal great great grandmother Velma Ochs of Sioux Falls, SD, maternal great great grandmother Helen Spencer of Aberdeen, SD. paternal grandparents Phillip (PJ) and Sandy Parmelee of N. Sioux City, SD, uncle Parker Parmelee of N. Sioux City, SD and paternal great grandmother Mona Lund of Sioux City, and all of those other relatives too numerous to mention, God parents; Cathy & Alan Clark and Onie & Shannon Donnell.
Gemma was preceded in death by her great grandfather Ronald DeForrest, great grandmother Ruby Goodspeed, great grandfather W.R. Goodspeed, great-great grandmother Lois Combs and great grandfather Claire Lund.
