Gene Plummer

Norman “Gene” Plummer, 73, died of complications from pneumonia, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Pleasant View Nursing Home of Whiting, IA.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., with visitation one hour prior. Gene Plummer, the son of Glen and Doris (Hayworth) Plummer was born April 21, 1948, in Anthon, IA. He was employed at Crossroads of Western Iowa for 20 years.

Gene liked to draw and was very fond of listening to Johnny Cash music. He was a people-person and loved to visit with anyone he encountered. Gene also had very fond memories of his childhood dog, Old Tippy.

Gene is survived by his brother, Warren (Janice) Plummer of Hornick, IA; a half-brother, Dan Thompson of Rowlett, TX; six nephews; one great- nephew; one great-niece; an aunt, Phyllis Dowling of Whiting; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
