Mrs. Grigg was born Sept. 3, 1915, at her parent's home in rural Kingsley, Iowa, the first of six children of George and Nancy (Bates) Davidson. She graduated from Pierre (S.D.) High School in 1933. She was employed as a certified public accountant secretary for eight years in Sioux City.
She married Thomas F. Grigg on Sept. 8, 1943, at the Presbyterian Church in Lawton. They farmed in the Lawton area for 37 years and continued the legacy of farming the land that is now passed on to the third generation of Griggs.
Through her love of family and helping others, she was an outstanding role model. Always volunteering with loving kindness, she was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as an officer for 54 years. She made more than 160 lap robes for care centers and managed books for the neighborhood (Golden Acres) water fund. She was active in her church, serving as church treasurer for 15 years, was ordained as a church elder and was involved in Presbyterian Women.
Thankful to be in her own home until August 2007, she enjoyed family gatherings. She also enjoyed traveling, growing her own garden produce, sewing, knitting, crossword puzzles, cards, board games and reading.
