SIOUX CITY -- Gerald "Jerry" L. Wilson, 57, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at the Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, prior to services, with Al Sturgeon and Don Carnes speaking.
Jerry was born and raised in Delphi, Canada. This is where he attended school and graduated from Delphi University in Canada, with a degree in business.
He came to the United States on a work visa. It was this visa that brought him to the Siouxland area. He became a resident in 1990, and retained his Canadian residency. Jerry was an independent sales agent for Regency Marketing Inc. in Sioux City.
He enjoyed playing pool, arguing politics, gardening as well as helping and caring for others. He enjoyed time spent with family, friends and his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a being a good father figure.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa of Sioux City; a son, Jerritt Wilson of Sioux City; two stepchildren, Chad and Melissa Tiedtke of Sioux City, and Julie and Tom Sherry of Anaheim, Calif.; five grandchildren; a sister; and a twin brother, both in Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
