Geraldine "Jerri" I. Mozer, 79, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jerri was born on May 5, 1936, in Tilden, Neb., to Carl and Laurene (Eggers) Schulz.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Mozer on Dec. 5, 1954, in Tilden. They made their home in Norfolk, Neb. Through Marvin's career advancements, they lived in Wayne and Allen, Neb., Jefferson, Iowa, and eventually Sioux City. Jerri worked at Coast to Coast as a bookkeeper in Sioux City and South Sioux City for a number of years, retiring in 1991. Jerri and Marvin enjoyed spending winters in Weslaco, Texas, for nine years.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. Jerri enjoyed dancing, ceramics, playing cards and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Attending her grandchildren's sporting events was something she truly enjoyed.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband, Marvin of Sioux City; children, Dennis (Lori) Mozer of Charter Oak, Iowa, Brad (Sharla) Mozer of Sioux City, and Pamela (John) Burbach of Moville, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Dave) De Jong, Jarod (Shantel) Mozer, Josh (Emily) Mozer, Brianna (Jordan) Wineland, Brittney Mozer, Benjamin Burbach, and Henry Burbach; three great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Joan) Schulz of Pierce, Neb.; sisters, Carlene (Ron) Mindrup of Columbus, Neb., and Jacquie Havel; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
