SIOUX CITY -- Gina L. Thompson, 47, of Sioux City passed away suddenly Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .
Gina was born July 27, 1964, in Sioux City, to Neal and Virginia (Searls) Thompson. She operated Gina's Daycare for more than 25 years.
She enjoyed music, crafts, decorating and her beloved pets, Harley, Emmy, Maisy and Callie. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends, including her best friend, her mother.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Virginia and Burdette Weaver; brothers, Jeff and Laurie Thompson and Greg Thompson of Grandview, Mo.; her stepmother, Mary (Beavers) Thompson; a stepbrother, Tom and Mary Weaver of Malibu, Calif.; stepsisters, Debbie and Gary Gillum of Des Moines, and Gay and Carl Borg of Holdrege, Neb.; nephews, Zach and Ian Thompson, Curt Gillum, and Justis and Aaron Borg; and nieces, Cierra Thompson, Jenny Downey, Alicia Thorson, Lindsay Weaver, Angie Weaver, and Jody Gnuse.
She was preceded in death by her father, Neal Thompson; and her grandparents, Walter and Mabel Thompson and Dwight and Gladys Searls.
Memorials may be directed to the family for expenses.
