Gladys Ann Broderson, 90, of Sioux City passed away Aug. 17, 2015 at Holy Spirit Retirement Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Gladys was born on Dec. 17, 1924, in Hartington, Neb., to Clarence and Sena (Dreesen) Hirschman. Gladys graduated from Holy Trinity School in 1943.
She married Robert H. Broderson on Jan. 12, 1952, in Sioux City. Gladys was employed at Wincharger, the Navy Army Depot, and Younkers for more than 21 years, all while being a wonderful homemaker.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, and playing Scrabble with the grandkids.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Lammers of Sioux City, Carole (Rodney) Lindberg of Ida Grove, Iowa, Lisa (Michael) Antonovich of Sioux City, Jacqueline (Thomas) Betsworth of Pace, Fla., Maribeth (Lonnie) Pinney of Hinton, Iowa, and Susan DeMara and Scott Jones of Sioux City; sons, Troy Broderson of Sioux City, and Rob (Natalie) Broderson of Sioux City; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Dee Hirschman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Victoria Broderson; son, Gerald Broderson; sisters, Helen, Blanche, and Ruth; brothers, Gerald and Lyle; and granddaughter, Brittany Pinney.
