Gloria F. Flair, 72, of South Sioux City, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Regency Square in South Sioux City.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Gloria was born on Feb. 11, 1945, in Louisville, Ky., to Lawrence and Elva Lena (Gibson) Zill. After Gloria's mother passed away, she was raised by her father and stepmother, Emma Zill. She graduated from high school in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and went on to attend the National Business Training School in Sioux City.
She was united in marriage to Eugene Flair on April 23, 1966. He preceded her in death in 2014. Gloria was a bookkeeper for Green Gables and The Normandy. She also worked at Zenith, Donnelly Marketing and at Wal-Mart in South Sioux City for 27 years before retiring in 2014.
Gloria loved to play Yahtzee and would never miss a good game of bingo at the Boys Club, Eagles and Regency Square. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at Christmas, as she enjoyed the decorations and festivities.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Gene (Rita) Flair of Sioux City and Jennifer Flair of South Sioux City, Neb.; three grandkids, Mariah, Justus, and Reilly Flair, all of Sioux City; and her sister, Barbara Spencer of Spillville, Iowa.
