Gordon James Jensen

Gordon J. Jensen, age 74, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his residence.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside Chapel with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service led by Father Brad Pelzel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Nativity Catholic Church, Mater Dei Parish with Father Mark Stoll officiating. Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa.

Gordon James Jensen was born November 30, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1967. He then served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1971.
He married Ann Therese Glaser on April 15, 1972. Ann died on May 28, 2006. He worked as an independent insurance agent for 40 years. He was a member of Mater Dei Parish.

Gordon is survived by his daughter, Amy K. Ortmann and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Ann Marie, James, and Rachel Ortmann; sister, Diana Antonette and her husband Richard of Lake Jackson, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann; and his parents, Alfred and Delores Jensen.
