Gregory Jerald "Greg" Perera

Gregory J. Perera, 36, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in Sioux City.
Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Greg was born on Dec. 21, 1977, in Sioux City, the son of Donald and Mary P. (Martin) Perera. He grew up in Sioux City and attended East High School. He was a union laborer working for W.A. Klinger.
Greg loved spending time with his daughter, Riley, and his dog, Kilo. He was a member of Union Laborer's Local 620.
Greg is survived by his daughter, Riley Perera of Sioux City; his father, Don and Colleen Perera of Sioux City; his mother, Mary P. Browning of Sioux City; brother, Jeff (Jennifer) Perera; brother, Shaun (Melissa) Vincent; sister, Melissa Perera; brother, Mike Merrill, all of Sioux City; brother, Denis Merrill of Tulsa, Okla.; paternal grandfather, Jerry Perera of Sioux City; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, JoAnn Perera; and maternal grandparents, Lyle and Rosemary Martin
