Harriet June Kracke, 77, of Sioux City died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Hallmark Care Center in Sioux City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Ave., in Sioux City. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo. Harriet was born on Friday, Oct. 29, 1937, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the daughter of John and Lilly (May) Finton. As a young woman, she married James Kracke. James and Harriet and their children lived in several cities in the Midwest including, Sioux Falls, Sioux City and Denver. After James retired the couple moved to Centerville, S.D. James died on April 14, 2003, in Sioux Falls. Harriet moved back to Sioux City in 2005.
Harriet loved crocheting, but what she loved most was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, Gene Kracke of Denver, Ken Kracke of Denver, Kevin Kracke of Sioux City, James Kracke of Denver, and Kurtis and Janice Kracke of Sioux City; daughters, Karen and Dean Irwin of Sioux Falls, Lavada and Rocky Pautz of Denver, Kim and Mike Lenninger of Sioux City, and Pam Kracke of Sioux City; brother, Butch and Marilyn Finton of Sioux Falls; sister, Judy Rose of Chamberlain, S.D.; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two grandsons who were raised by Harriet and James, J.D. Kracke and Travis Irwin.
