Heidi Lynn Southwell (Davis)

SIOUX CITY -- Heidi L. Southwell, 54, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Tanya Sherrill and Merrill Mueller officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, Neb. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Heidi was born July 1, 1956, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Howard and Sally (Rademacher) Davis. She grew up and attended school in Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota. She graduated from Montevideo, Minn. After high school, she later attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.
Heidi married Melvin Southwell on June 13, 1981, in Sioux City. She was employed with IBP as a supervisor in the freight audit department. She also worked for Wohl Shoe Company in both Sioux City and Waterloo, Iowa.
She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School and led the children's sermon. She also served in various church committees. She enjoyed shopping, eating out, spending time with children and family members and music especially country. She also enjoyed watching game shows and all Iowa State sports.
Survivors include her husband, Mel of Sioux City; a daughter, Stephanie and Josh Mitrisin of Oskaloosa, Iowa; a son, Scott and Stephanie Southwell of Ogden, Utah; a grandson, Jacob Mitrisin; her parents, Howard and Sally Davis; three brothers, Mark Davis, Paul and Carol Ann Davis and John and Denise Davis; a sister, Sonna and James Pohlson; her mother-in-law, Celia Southwell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and father-in-law, Dale Southwell.
