MOVILLE, Iowa -- Helen L. Daly, 91, of Sioux City, formerly of Moville, died April 23, 2012, at Char-Mac Assisted Living in Lawton, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to service Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Helen was born on Feb. 21, 1921, in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of George and Verna (Corrington) Booth. She attended country school near Cherokee.
Helen married Stewart Daly on April 21, 1940, in Aurelia, Iowa. They farmed and lived near Larrabee, Iowa, Fulda, Minn., Storm Lake, Iowa, Kingsley, Iowa, and the Moville area and more recently in Sioux City. Stewart died on April 15, 1996.
Helen was a member of Moville United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed quilting and all kinds of gardening. Flowers were her favorite.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Carlson of Sioux City, and Terri and Larry Koehn of Moville; grandchildren, Kip and Suzy Turnquist of Sioux City, Jodi and Wes Collier of Cypress, Texas, Kal Turnquist and fiancee, Nikki Craft of Houston, Texas, Jeff Koehn and fiancee, Kara Pennings of Kingsley, Iowa, and Chris and Merideth Koehn of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Dick and Lorraine Booth of Alta, Iowa; a sister, Pat and Bill Jensen of Battle Creek, Iowa; and five great-grandchildren, Jesse Turnquist, Jami Turnquist, Hunter Koehn, Lindsay Collier and Daniel Collier.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stewart; four brothers, Claire, Don, Bill and Dale; and a sister, Betty Booth.
