Helen W. Noecker, 88, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas Topf officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Helen was born on Sept. 25, 1924, in Yankton, S.D., to William and Rose (Lammers) Noecker of Fordyce, Neb. and Menominee, Neb. area. She graduated from Trinity High School in Hartington, Neb. in 1942.
She moved to Sioux City a couple years later and worked at Dunn & Bradstreet. She then worked at Bekin’s Moving and Storage until her retirement in 1989.
Helen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved cooking and tending to her dogs and cats. Helen cherished her Catholic faith and took seriously her commitment to the adoration of the Holy Eucharist. She enjoyed going to the boat but what she loved most was spending time with nieces and nephews whom she treated as her very own children.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, John (Therese) Noecker of St. Louis, Mo., Tricia Noecker of St. Louis, Barb (Floyd) Martin of Craig, Colo., Jim Noecker of Ocean View, Hawaii, Margaret Noecker of Hastings, Neb., Dan (Carol) Noecker of St. Louis, Robert Noecker of Overland Park, Kan., Randy (Barb) Noecker of Mound View, Minn., Carla (Tom) Glesener of Apple Valley, Minn., Jeff Noecker of California, Barb McGlynn of St. Louis Park, Minn., John (Bobbie) Pylelo of Sioux City, Christa (Jim) Headid of Rapid City, S.D., and Tom Pylelo of Sioux City, a sister-in-law, Sally Noecker of Omaha; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Ralph, Ervin and his wife Beulah and Ervin’s second wife Bonnie, Bill, Art and his wife, Joan; her sister, Milly and her husband, Serhey Pylelo; and her niece Sheila (Noecker) Moglia.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, John Noecker, Robert Noecker, Randy Noecker, John Pylelo, Tom Pylelo and Jim Headid
A memorial has been established in Helen’s name and may be directed to the family.
