Helen Louise Warren, 86, Moville, Iowa passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at a Kingsley Nursing Home.
Graveside Service will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, IA. Rev. Harold Werley will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday at the McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Helen was born on December 7, 1925 in Van Buren County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Witt) McCracken. She was raised in Bentonsport, Iowa and graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1943. She worked in Ft. Madison at W. A. Shaffer Pen Company. On September 4, 1944 she married Albert Clifford Warren. To this union a son, Dick and a Daughter, Becky were born. The family lived in Birmingham, IA until they moved to Moville in 1961. After moving to Moville she went to work at St. Joseph Hospital as a nurses aide and later worked as a unit secretary for 18 years. She took early retirement in 1983. Clifford died on December 25, 1985. Helen enjoyed flowers, flea markets, yard work, crocheting and making several Afghans.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Dick and Annette of Onawa, IA, a daughter and her husband, Becky and Nevin Moodie of Moville, IA, 6 grandchildren, Jay and Laurie Warren of Moville, Reuben and Veronica Warren of Sloan, IA, Ann and Denny Sandford of Onawa, Garrick and Kristie Warren of Maryland, Adam Moodie of Moville, Clifford and Nicole Moodie of Kingsley, Great Grandchildren, Hailey, Mackenzie and Izabella Moodie, Megan, Makayla, and Colton Warren, Catie, Gabe, Schuylar and Gavin Warren, Jaxson, Jannie, JoAnna Koneg, Emily Sandford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, Robert, Delbert and one in infancy, 1 sister, Rosemarie Ferrell and 2 grandchildren, Tracy and Matthew Moodie.
A memorial has been established in her name for the Iowa Department of the Blind.
