SIOUX CITY -- Holly (Harvey) Wenschlag, 64, of Sioux City died Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Touchstone Living Center.

Holly was born Nov. 21, 1946, at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Genevieve (Bradshaw) Church. She attended school at Osage and later in Spencer, Iowa, graduating from Spencer High School. She continued her education at Northwestern College.
Holly married Jim Harvey in December of 1967. They later divorced. Holly moved to Estherville, Iowa, where she taught physical education for several years. She moved to Pierson, Iowa, in the early 1970s and was a full-time mother. Holly moved to Kingsley, Iowa, in the early 1980s and to Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa, for a short time before moving to Sioux City.
She married Gary Wenschlag on Dec. 28, 2002. Holly worked at numerous churches in youth ministry. She also was a lifeguard in most communities she lived in. Holly had her own cleaning business called Holly's Heavenly Helpers.
She was a member of Sunnybrook Community Church and was a foster parent. She was a very adventurous and active person. She trained her therapy dog, Dakota, and enjoyed spending time in the water swimming and ceramics.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Wenschlag of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Cole and Shelby Harvey and Brett and Emily Harvey, all of Kingsley; a stepdaughter, Julie Wenschlag of Minneapolis, Minn.; a stepson and his wife, Eric and Amy Wenschlag of Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Bradi, Joshua, Boe, Jesse, Cal and Lilli; three stepgrandchildren, Abby, Carter and Kaitlyn; a brother and his wife, Brad and Janene Church of Fort Dodge, Iowa; aunts and uncles; nephews and nieces; relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
