Howard Charles Huisenga, 102 of Sioux City, Iowa died on Monday, May 30, 2022, at a local care facility in Sioux City, Iowa.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church located at 1735 Morningside Ave Sioux City, Iowa 51106 with the Rev. Jim Shirbroun officiating. Interment will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1735 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, Iowa.

Howard was born December 9, 1919, in Sibley, Iowa, to Ollie and Amelia "Knott” Huisenga. He was a graduate of Sibley High School class of 1937. Howard married Virginia L. Anderson on March 31, 1941, in Sibley, IA. Howard pursued his high school interest in radio and spent his life in electronics. First serving as a Petty Officer First Class in the Navy from 1944 until 1946 as a radio and radar technician, then in the Iowa Army National Guard after WWII from 1948 - 1951 and finally with the Federal Aviation Administration for the next 27 years retiring in 1980. He later worked part-time for Bomgaar’s in Sioux City.
His hobbies included gardening, yard work, a love of music which included playing the organ and keyboard, ham radio operation and square dancing.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Grace Seniors, former member of Rustin Avenue Methodist Church, Siouxland Organ Club, South Sioux City Eagle's Club and Monahan-Nelson American Legion Post #64.
Surviving are sons, Ronald & Joyce Huisenga of Pottstown, PA and James Huisenga of Manassas, VA; daughter, Mary Parker of Sioux City, IA; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great – great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Huisenga of Sioux City, IA and Roger & Marilyn Huisenga of Sibley, IA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Joanne and her husband, Denny Stilwell; grandson, Michael Huisenga; son-in-law, Dan Parker; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Huisenga; brother, Robert and his wife, Leona Huisenga; sister, Norma and her husband, George Hoffman; and a sister-in-law, Mary, Ellen Huisenga.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the East High Headliners or Grace United Methodist Church.
