Howard Royalty

Howard Royalty, 98, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at a local hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
Howard was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Amanda (Dunn) Royalty. He graduated from East High School.
Howard married Muriel Pedersen on July 28, 1940. She died in 1995. He married Carol Murdock-Porter on June 12, 2008. Howard lived in Sioux City most his life. He worked for Sioux City Truck Sales.
Howard was a Boy Scout leader. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Carol A. Royalty of Sioux City; three children, Carol Royalty (and significant other, Jerry Sundgren) of Minneapolis, Minn., Tom (Liz) Royalty of Bend, Ore., and Ted Royalty of Bend, Ore.; three stepchildren, Tonya Bousquet of Omaha, CaTina (Marco) Minonne of Chicago, Ill., and Troy Porter of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
