Howard Hugh Spray

SIOUX CITY -- Howard H. Spray Sr., 84, formerly of Sioux City and Richland, S.D., died April 13, 2011, in Hot Springs, S.D.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the U.S. Navy Reserves. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Spray was born Sept. 6, 1926, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of John and Rosetta (Enderlee) Spray. His family moved to Sioux City when he was a young child. Howard attended Sioux City schools. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served until 1946. He was an over-the-road truck driver for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Girard) Spray of Hot Springs, S.D.; his daughter and her husband, Geri and Greg Case of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren, Todd Case, Richard Case, Heather Case and fiancee, Branden Johns, and Crystal Case, all of Sioux City, Jonette (Spray) Petterson and Becky Spray, both of Minnesota, Harley Spray and his wife, Kara, Joey Spray, John Spray Jr. and Isaiah Spray, all of Hot Springs; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlene Gentile; and a brother and his wife, Dave and Marilyn Spray.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Don Spray, John Spray Sr. and Howard Spray Jr.; his brothers, Bud Spray and Cy Spray; his sisters, Louetta Scott and Gert Barrett; and four nephews, Jack, Larry, Richard and Frank Spray.
